Think, Pair, Share
Students are given opportunities to listen and share individual
ideas and thoughts on a topic.
Step 1: After lecturing, announce a topic and how long
students will have to discuss the topic.
Step 2: Provide think time.
Step 3: Students take turns sharing answers to the question or prompt.
VARIATIONS: Have students shuffle around the room before pairing up. Students
pair with the person closest to them. Consider using music in this activity!
Note Comparison
Some students are better note-takers than others. This activity
allows students to work together to improve this important
college skill.
Step 1: Advise students to take notes during the lecture.
Step 2: After lecturing, have students form pairs or groups.
Step 3: The pairs or groups will take turns comparing and modifying notes.
NOTES: Circulate through the room to answer any questions students have
about the notes and lecture material.
This activity can be facilitated ONLINE.
