By Olysha Magruder

In the last issue of Teachology, we introduced the Quality Matters (QM) program
at Santa Fe. The QM program is gaining momentum and you can be a part of this
exciting opportunity.
What is QM?
Quality Matters is “a leader in quality assurance for online education and has
received national recognition for its peer-based approach to continuous
improvement in online education and student learning.
The program features:
Faculty-centered, continuous improvement models for assuring the quality of
online courses through peer review
Professional development workshops and certification courses for instructors
and online learning professionals
Rubrics for applying quality standards to course design”

Over the past couple of semesters, there has been a great response to the QM
professional development opportunities – 33 people have taken the first training
course and 14 people are now Santa Fe College peer reviewers!
What’s New?
This semester, Academic Technologies has new opportunities in store - three of
our staff are certified to offer the Applying the Quality Matters Rubric (APPQMR)
on site! This means you are now able to take the course in one day.
