Chapter 6
Language learning is not only concerned with acquiring knowledge
(about grammar and pronunciation systems, for example)- it is not
just something we learn about. Rather it is a skill, or a set of skills-
something
we
can
learn
to
do,
like
riding
a
bike.
So, students need meaningful, interactive practice in the skills in
order to use the language.
