30. Teaching and Ethics
Reflection:
If we wouldn’t take into
consideration the laws that
defend the rights of
children and teens, would it
be different the education
that teachers provide?
Probably yes, because they
wouldn’t have something
to stop them from hitting
or doing something bad to
his students. The respect
has an important role when
it comes to ethics, you
can’t ask for respect if you
don’t respect the rest of
people around you. In the
case of teachers and
students, when something
bad happens the parents
will always blame the
teacher, not matter if this
one doesn’t have the fault
of the problem.
There have been classes
where the teacher ends up
fighting with his students
because of a problem that
becomes personal, when it
should be only related with
school. There have also
been cases where the
teachers have affairs with
his students, when they’re
minors. Sometimes the
school doesn’t do anything
about it until the parents
treat them with going to
the police station so the
teacher can go to jail; some
teachers
even
accept
money from students in
exchange for a good score
so the student won’t fail
the course.
