Integrated Resources
All of Plumtree Baby ’ s materials seamlessly integrate . This guide is based on our Healthy Pregnancy ( abbreviated HP ) parent book ( right ) which can be used by parents as a guide in class and as a take-home reference . The book , along with this curriculum , has a corresponding PowerPoint ( below ).
Plumtree Baby provides many additional resources including books , posters and handouts for education on pregnancy , childbirth , postpartum and breastfeeding . Many resources are available in English or Spanish .
In our parent books , wherever you see this plum symbol , you will find an important topic highlighted . Often , there are several different options or approaches for these topics . Encourage parents to discuss questions and preferences with their partner and health care provider ( doctor or midwife ). Doing so will help parents make informed decisions about the approach that is best for their family .
The content in Healthy Pregnancy can be taught independently , or it can be added to or integrated into the Childbirth Curriculum ( sold separately ) for a more in-depth course .
Materials published by Plumtree Baby are written to inform parents about the most current evidence-based practices and focus on normal , physiologic labor and birth . They also focus on informed choice and active participation of parents . Parent books encourage parents to communicate and partner with their health care providers to make the best decisions for their care .
