Since 2010, K-Wave has expanded beyond Asia through a new communication channel. Using
the internet to increase K-Wave’s exposure, especially YouTube, Twitter and Facebook, has al-
lowed for inexpensive and expedited expansion. For example, Big Bang, a Korean boy band,
released the song Tonight in Feb. 2011 in Korea, and it ranked No 7 on Billboard Heatseekers
and No 3 on the World Album chart only a month after its release.
