Simple Korean Expressions ** 수고했어요. “Soo-go-hat-seo-yo” – This expression can be used as ‘bye’ when the listener has done something for the speaker. This translates into ‘thank you for the work you have done for me’. For example, you may say this to a mechanic for repairing your car. ** 수고하세요. “Soo-go-ha-sae-yo” – This expression is almost the same as 수고했어요 but it is used when the listener does not yet perform an action for the speaker. However, the listener may do some work for the speaker or the listener will do some work for others. For example, you may say this to a waiter/waitress when you leave a restaurant. This expression is used as a ‘Bye’ at a place where some type of service is rendered. 116 121 59
