Frank Ascione ’ 61 writes , “ Deb and I celebrated our 53rd anniversary this year and celebrated the high school graduation of our oldest grandchild , Calvin Santangelo , who completed his education at Gonzaga Prep in Spokane , WA and heads to Gonzaga University next fall . We capped his accomplishment with a family trip to Kauai . We have been blessed with good health ( save for Frank ’ s ailing knees - to be replaced this summer ) and the opportunity to watch our children and grandchildren flourish . All the best to our Saint David ’ s friends !”
Christophe von Hohenberg ’ 56 ’ s book The White Album of the Hamptons was recently published . He held an exhibition at his Gallery “ MM FINE ARTS “ in Southampton , Long Island . Christophe ’ s work is also represented at the C & C Gallery in New York City .
Bill Doelger ’ 57 writes that he is “ still enjoying country-living in the smallest state capital in the country , Montpelier , VT with my wife and two greyhounds . Last year I published a 179-page book primarily for my great nieces and nephews . It included a reprint of the story of my great grandfather who came from Bavaria at the age of 18 and went on to build the third largest brewery in New York City , Peter Doelger First Prize Beer . The book includes the reproduction of glass slides from my grandfather ’ s generation and the research my mother did on her New England ancestry . This year I have started writing the recollections of my life . Our travel destinations this year are Norway and South Africa .”
Bob Renner ’ 58 and his wife Joan just returned from a cruise on the Enchantment of the Seas . They visited five islands from Antigua to St . Maarten on a 10-day cruise of the Caribbean . Bob reports that there were “ no hurricanes this trip , so we will keep on traveling . Hope to go to the South Pacific soon . Have any alums hit the Antarctic yet ?”
L . Frank Hickey ’ 67 recently retired from Moldova where he was assisting with relief efforts to Ukrainian victims of the present conflict . He has completed writing a screenplay that is set in the Ukrainian war zone .
Mike Hankinson ’ 70 reports that his brother Tim ’ 69 sadly passed away in September 2022 . Mike adds that Tim ’ s “ career as a professional soccer coach was almost exclusively influenced by his nine years at Saint David ’ s ( K-8 ), joyfully playing on the then rubble fields of Central Park .”
Bill Lalor ’ 73 writes “ Just a shout out to the Class of ’ 73 that it would be nice to have a 50th Party in Sept ./ Oct . of this year . Credit to Peter Antonucci for getting the ball rolling . Saint David ’ s still lingers in my memory bank . It would be great to see the “ old ” crew . Contact Peter or me bhlalor @ verizon . net if interested .”
