DiPasquale Family Woodshop Dedication
Our woodshop was dedicated to the DiPasquale family ( Sara , Doug , Lukas ’ 23 , and Mia ) on March 3 , 2023 . The family underwrote its renovation and construction during our All That We Can Be expansion campaign .
In his remarks , Dr . O ’ Halloran commented on the beauty of the airy space on the sixth floor encompassing the corner of Madison and 89th Street and on its importance to the school ’ s mission and focus . He quoted St . Francis of Assisi :
“ ’ He who works with his hands is a laborer , he who works with his hands and head is a craftsman . He who works with hands , head and heart is an artist .’ That ’ s exactly what Saint David ’ s boys do each and every day in this space . Thank you for keeping the work with wood alive for our boys .”
Amity Grimes ( N ’ 74 )
Amity Grimes N ’ 74 , daughter of former Saint David ’ s Headmaster David Hume , visited the school in the spring . She is shown with her husband Warren ( far left ), former faculty member Tom McLellan , and Headmaster O ’ Halloran in the Headmaster ’ s Office , and also in front of an iconic painting that depicts Mr . Hume ( seated ) with one of the school ’ s instrumental founders , Gregory Smith . In the background is a portrait of Louise L . Hoguet who first conceived of the school .
