“ On-Pointe ”

By Peter Martin
Saint David ’ s Strategic Communications Specialist Peter Martin follows up with Brooks Landegger ’ 17 , recently named by Pointe Magazine for “ one of the 12 onstage standout performances in dance , worldwide .”

As featured in our Winter 2022 issue , we fast forward one year later and reconnect with Brooks to discuss his professional success over 2022 , and discuss how his time at Saint David ’ s laid the very foundation for the trajectory he now finds himself on . “ Saint David ’ s played a critical role . Omega was my entry point and I have always carried the mission of becoming a good man .” Brooks points to the following as his favorite part of Saint David ’ s , “ Saint David ’ s is built for the boys that occupy the building . It is not about the parents , alumni , or the Board of Directors . Saint David ’ s is about the current classes — advancing their character and guiding them to be good men .”

Most recently , Landegger completed another remote semester at the Georgetown University SCS studying business ; a great achievement independent of his outstanding dance undertaking which has resulted in recognition from Pointe Magazine as ’ Worldwide Standout Performances of 2022 ’ and ’ Knight Foundation Arts Champion ’ of 2022 .
When asked about the next chapter of his dance career , Landegger expressed his gratitude to the Miami City Ballet , his excitement about the future of dance , and reiterated the impact of his formative years at Saint David ’ s .
We can be sure to hear more from this focused talent again in the near future . But in the meanwhile , Landegger is part of the Miami City Ballet , where last season he danced Romeo in Romeo and Juliet , Tony in Robbins ’ West Side Story , and principal roles in masterworks by George Balanchine . MCB regularly performs throughout South Florida and he hopes to see you there soon . •
