Tech Spotlight Using technology in the classroom … by Melissa Michael Teacher Treasure Hunter I have to admit that I love reading education tech blogs and am entranced by the idea of a 1:1 classroom – a device for every student. The reality in my classroom has been that we have had 2 iPads for a few years thanks to a generous parent donation. We recently acquired a miniiPad thanks to years of saving Scholastic points. So, what do you do when you have 1 device or just a few to be shared with a whole classroom of students. How can you optimize student learning and facilitate tech time for each student? Whole Class Use A great way to share a device with a whole classroom is to project an app. You would need to have an LED projector for these ideas. For Apple products, you can use the Apple TV ($99-$130 USD). It connects via HDMI so you will need a HDMI input on your projector or an adapter.
