With activities across Al Ain Oasis, Al Jahili Fort, Qasr Al Muwaiji, Al Ain Palace Museum, Al Ain National Museum, Al Qattara Arts Centre, Souq Al Qattara, as well as around the city, the programme extends across educational and recreational activities beginning this month and running until May 2018.
The programme is curated to provide a variety of platforms to encounter the Emirate’ s cherished past, as well as interact with the local communities, the keepers of a heritage that is very much alive today.
Running on weekends and weekdays, until May 2018, the programme brings daily activities that are organised in one of Al Ain’ s historic sites; whether it is a community engagement programme, exhibitions or concerts, there is something for everyone. This is the newest feature of this year’ s programming which commits to a weekly schedule of activities running week after week across the city, allowing for a well-planned itinerary for the visitor, any day of the week.
The Department of Culture and Tourism has organised this year’ s programme to include several tours that allow residents and tourists to experience Emirati culture first hand. Registration based programmes such as Travel Through Our Traditions, My Old House Tour, and Museums by Night will allow the public exclusive access to the most intimate aspects of Emirati living traditions, through the homes of the Al Ain community and other intimate spaces of Al Ain’ s historic sites which include Forts ' and historic homes that offer a peek into the past.
