What are the two main things that inspired you to teach abroad?
James Gillard
Reception Teacher
" My inspirations for teaching abroad were a sense of adventure and a desire for opportunity. Since beginning teaching, I have craved opportunities to prove myself in a variety of different settings and leaving my home and seeking new challenges overseas has afforded me that."
Tim Cole
English Teacher
" The idea of teaching English in a different part of the world has always appealed to me. Indeed, the opportunity to combine my passion for teaching with my love of travelling was always an enticing prospect. The international circuit is also a wonderful way of meeting like-minded professional people."
Colm Nolan
Head of Science
" Teaching overseas gives me the ability to fulfil two of my passions- teaching and travelling. I get to bring my children up in diverse cultures, preparing them for their life as global citizens."
Trish Pearson

Fiona Nelson
Year 2 Teacher
Helene Didier
French Teacher
Alex Costello
Art Teacher
" In the winter of 1997, the lure of warmer climes made me think of working overseas.‘ I ' ll try Kuwait for a year’, I thought. Why not? That was 19 years ago and I ' m still here, because it ' s a fabulous school and teaching environment!"
" My school, the support I received from the teachers there, and the wonderful children I worked with as a teaching assistant inspired me to complete my PGCE and teach full time. Teaching abroad also provides the opportunity to travel the world. It’ s the best decision I ever made."
" As a French teacher it feels fantastic to be able to share cultural awareness. Pupils are curious and we always end up having fun in the classroom. I like to inspire and be inspired by the new generation. Getting to know each other, raising empathy and tolerance via a language is extremely rewarding."
" I enjoy being a part of a unique school community; having grown up abroad, I know what fantastic communities surround these schools. Also, as a recent graduate, teaching abroad offered me more opportunities than those currently available in
Ireland."
