PUBLISHER’S MESSAGE M I D D L E “ Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality ” E A S T Teach Middle East Magazine ® EDITORIAL DIRECTOR Leisa Grace Wilson [email protected] WARREN BENNIS ART DIRECTOR Welcome to the May-June 2018 issue of Teach Middle East Magazine. We are so grateful that you have stuck with us throughout the entire academic year. As we come to the end of another volume of the magazine, we can’t help but marvel at the growth and learning that has taken place in this volume. Volume 5 marked 5 years since the first issue of Teach Middle East Magazine rolled off the presses. Back then we started out as Teach UAE Magazine, little did we know that in just five short years we would have changed our name to Teach Middle East Magazine and become the most widely read education publication in the Middle East, attracting readers from all over the world. These accomplishments are as a direct result of the strong partnerships that we have formed with educators, schools and education resources & services providers. The success of this magazine is also owed in part to our dedicated team of writers and contributors who continue to unselfishly share their knowledge and expertise, issue after issue. We also owe a debt of gratitude to the schools who keep opening their doors to us, to be able to share the good practice that is taking place in their schools. It is you, our educators that have kept us going! As this is the last issue before you all head off for the summer break, we would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you on a successful school year and to wish you all a wonderful, restful and fun summer break. The teacher in you may want to plan and prep all summer long, but don’t give in to that feeling. Make sure to take time to completely disconnect. 04 | May - Jun 2018 | | While you disconnect, we will be busy planning Volume 6 of Teach Middle East Magazine and getting it ready for your return in late August. There is a lot to look forward to, in the upcoming school year. Along with the magazine, we also have a catalogue of events on the cards, starting with The Middle East School Leadership Conference on October 9-10, 2018 in Dubai. This event will bring together the region’s school leaders under the theme: LEADING SCHOOLS IN THE 21ST CENTURY-COLLABORATION OVER COMPETITION.
