Over the years, Heritage House Museum has seen many different owners
such as Mattar bin Saeed bin Muzaauna, Sheikh Ahmed bin Dalmouk,
Mohamed bin Dalmouk, Saaed bin Hamdan and Ibrahim Al Said
Abdullah. Heritage House offers a clear depiction of traditional Emirati
dwellings. It was restored and repaired by the Dubai Municipality. On
March 20 th, 2000, HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum officially
inaugurated the house as a heritage site.
The Bride Room or Al-Hijla: This room
was prepared by the groom’s mother
and other female family members prior
to the wedding day. It is covered with
bolsters and embroidered pillows,
mirrors and Persian carpets are spread
on a layer of straw mats on the floor.

Al Ahmadiya School played a major role in the history of education in
the trucial Emirates and Dubai in particular. It was the first semi-formal
school in Dubai. Al Ahmadiya School was established in 1912. Teaching
took place on mats made from palm tree leaves. Students would sit in
circles around their tutors and late on benches and desks, which were
brought to the classes. Each class had three students.
