Welcome to the March-April issue of Teach Middle East Magazine!
The month of March is filled with exciting education conferences and events. A few key events on our radar are; the BSME Conference in Bahrain, the Middle East Maths Teachers Conference, GESS Dubai 2017 and the Global Education & Skills Forum – Global Teacher Prize 2017( GESF – GTP).
The Middle East Maths Teachers Conference is in its inaugural year but it has already created a buzz among schools in the region. Mathematics teachers are gearing up to head to Dubai for a day of learning, networking and of course, fun. Join them. Visit www. middleeastmaths. com.
GESS Dubai 2017 is going into its 10 th year and as the show’ s official media partner, we will be there between March 14 th and 16 th to capture all the fantastic happenings that makes GESS Dubai the region’ s largest and most exciting education event.
In April, the BETT Middle East Conference 2017 in Abu Dhabi promises a wealth of CPD offerings aimed at improving education practices within the region. We are looking forward to meeting you at all of these events!
Class Time features the usual mix of articles that span a number of important education topics, including working with SEN and Gifted & Talented students, technology, tips for teaching early learners mathematics, an innovative music programme at Victoria English School Sharjah and key administrators
sharing what works within the UAE school system and much much more.
We hop over to Qatar to highlight the outstanding work that is happening at Al Jazeera Academy and feature their exceptional Head of Secondary School, Peter Kubicki, who shares a few valuable gems that he learned on his journey as an educator.
We always have a rich and rewarding experience at the KHDA’ s What Works Dubai events. We chatted with a few teachers and students at the recently held What Works Tolerance event to hear their perspectives on what tolerance means to them and how they promote it.
Vikas Pota, CEO of the Varkey Foundation joins us for our special After the Bell feature‘ A Moment With’, where he shares a bit on his upbringing and early goals that have led to his success today. How do you know when it is time for a change? Our expat teacher writer, Suzanne Berg gets real about the signs to look for, that will help you in knowing if it’ s time to repatriate.
