Know Your UAE Highlights from the Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival A nyone who has an interest in getting to know the culture of the UAE simply has to look around to see vibrant aspects of this rich culture on display. Additionally, Emiratis are very traditional and patriotic; as such, at any given time, there are usually ongoing events or occasions designed to celebrate aspects of their diverse culture. During the months of November to February, a wide range of festivals, events and celebrations take place across the Emirates. In Abu Dhabi, Fireworks at the event. some of these festivals include the Al Qattara Heritage Festival and the Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival (SZHF), which take place annually in Al Ain and Al Wathba respectively. The Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival is named after the UAE’s Founding Father, HH Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in recognition of his pivotal role in preserving the nation’s proud history as a gateway to the future. It celebrates the diversity of traditions and provides relevant educational information on UAE. Some of the areas on display at the event include living museums that allow visitors to experience aspects of the UAE culture through interactive activities, exhibitions and replicas of old villages and settlements, workshops, traditional tools and artefacts among other offerings.
