Sharing Good Practice brain processes our understanding and expectation of wellbeing – our personal observables . This effect is amplified , like any new learning , if we can link it to emotion . By generating an emotive charge to accompany the visualization , we have a higher chance of being effective in changing our perception and experience of mental wellbeing .
“ If the way of thinking does not change , then the emotions do not change and consequently do not change the filter used to codify the reality , so the future reality will be the same as the lived one . Only a conscious act can break this chain and allow us to generate different thoughts with respect to the past ones . To change our reality , we need to change our thoughts and emotions , transforming them to what we now aren ' t but we want to be . We need to be “ visionaries , dreamers “ ( Emerson , 2016 ).
Essentially , if we create a vision or ideology right now , in the present moment , where we believe our wellbeing is improved , where we are experiencing reduced stress , increased connectivity and higher levels of joy , our brain will change the paradigms in use that contribute to perceived poor mental health . Our brain will restructure , reform and identify with a new reality of improved mental health .
You create your future before it has happened . By manifesting it , your brain will actually change .
Is this all wishy washy psychedelic stuff ?
No – there is hard research behind it !
How did he demonstrate this ?
Dispenza took two groups of people who had never played piano . He scanned their brains using fMRI . For 6 weeks he asked one group to play practice sets repeatedly to learn the chords and scales . For 6 weeks he asked the other group to imagine they were playing the same sets for practice , without ever touching a piano . At the end of the study , when he scanned both groups ’ brains – BOTH groups had developed the neural centers for playing the piano . Equally .
By simply imagining the action , the second group had created the reality in their brain .
This had serious implications for the power of visualization and brain plasticity .
So , how is this important for teachers ’ wellbeing ?
The power of visualization in changing brain thought patterns is huge
This is a truly powerful tool . One that is available to every teacher on the planet !
It is cost free and has proven success
in improving mental wellbeing .
There is an abundance of content available on the practice of applying quantum physics to consciousness and wellbeing – webinars , conferences , meetups – its endless .
By applying this tool , by harnessing the power of your own thoughts , we could change how the brain visualizes , measures and perceives wellbeing . We can create the self-fulfilling prophecy in our own brain to generate the outcome that we desire- improved mental health and wellbeing .
Teachers can harness this tool to address the silent pandemic , to change their daily experience and ultimately improve their wellbeing .
Dr . Joe Dispenza ( a prolific speaker on the effects of quantum theory in mind conditioning ) has conducted large scale research in the fields of epigenetics , psychoneuroimmunology and cognitive neuroscience , tracing the effects of how this conscious thought changes through monitoring Heart Rates , fMRI and tracing chemicals in the body . He has proven that you can make your psychology your physiology through thought alone . And he is not alone , hundreds of research papers are supporting this theory .
Catherine is the Head of Student Services for Bloom Education in the UAE , she also hosts a fortnightly Inclusion & Wellbeing Forum for practitioners , sharing practice and knowledge from Singapore to Ireland . She is a teacher , psychologist and engineer and is passionate about combining practice from all three areas to develop effective leadership strategies in educational organisations . She is a regular conference speaker and media contributor and always keen to share freely and connect like-minded practitioners .
