Featured School THE AQUILA SCHOOL DUBAI EMBRACING THE INDIVIDUALITY OF EVERY LEARNER BY: GINETTE MOORE T he Aquila School, part of the International Schools Partnership, opened in September 2018 in Dubailand. It offers a modified British curriculum that complies with KHDA regulations. The school’s ethos is that all children receive amazing learning and they embrace the individuality of every learner. Opening with just 67 pupils, the school has grown rapidly and now has almost 350 pupils from FS1 to year 7, with a new year group being added to the secondary department each year. including those with complex needs. The Hemam Learning Support Center, with their focus on maximising the learning potential of every student, were selected as their ethos was harmonious with that of The Aquila School. There are benefits for all pupils when those with a disability are educated in regular schools. Students Inclusive education is more than a set of practices. It is also a philosophy: a way of thinking about people, diversity, learning and teaching (Graham, 2019).
