EFFORTS AND CHALLENGES
The blockade of Artsakh and the subsequent forced displacement of its population represented one of the most significant challenges for our organization in 2023 . Despite these difficulties , Teach For Armenia remained steadfast
in its support for employees and stakeholders . Several team members voluntarily traveled to Goris and Vayk to assist displaced individuals from Artsakh with registration and accommodation in Armenia . Additionally , we provided support to employees affected by the situation , including transportation , primary housing , and other necessities , extending this aid to their families as well . Prior to September 2023 , similar support was also provided to seventh-generation Teacher-Leaders who , due to the blockade , were unable to return to their homes .
“ Creating an exceptional working environment is challenging , particularly in workplaces serving some of the most underserved and vulnerable communities — areas that face hardships not only during peacetime but also amidst armed conflict . Our greatest achievement is the culture of solidarity , unity , and mutual care that we have built together . This collective spirit and resilience , which shone brightly during the blockade and subsequent occupation of Artsakh , fortify us and drive us closer to realizing our mission .”
