ASSESSMENT OF ACADEMIC AND SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL LEARNING OUTCOMES OF STUDENTS
Student Academic Assessments were administered to 2,492 students of 141 sixth and seventh generation Teacher- Leaders at the beginning and end of the 2021-2022 school year . The assessments measure increases in three areas of each subject taught – Knowledge , Application , and Critical Thinking – as well as overall Content Mastery . 6 We are proud to say that students achieved higher increases in scores across all areas measured compared to the previous school year . Our aim to increase Content Mastery by 15-20 % specifically was exceeded during the 2021-2022 school year by 5 %.
The Student Voice Rubric was previously used to measure growth in students ’ ability to express their opinions and influence others across core competency
6 According to Bloom ’ s Taxonomy , which consists of six major categories : Knowledge , Comprehension , Application , Analysis , Synthesis , and Evaluation . areas : Argument , Idea , Word Choice , Fluency , Organization , and Assertiveness . 2,618 students taught by sixth and seventh generation Teacher-Leaders completed the rubric at the beginning and end of the 2021-2022 school year . Our target was to increase core competencies in all areas by a minimum of 0.7 , almost a full level of growth on a five-point rubric . We are proud to say that by the end of the school year , students displayed an average 0.7 level increase in all competency areas , successfully reaching our target by 100 %.
The Student Leadership Self-Inventory is a self-perception survey previously used to measure the extent to which students believe they have grown through the learning process , and measures four main competencies : Self-Awareness , Self-Management , Social-Awareness , and Responsible Decision-Making . 2,504 students taught by 144 sixth and seventh generation Teacher-Leaders participated
