OVERVIEW
Our Teacher Leadership Program lies at the foundation of our movement to end educational inequity through collective leadership across Armenia and Artsakh . The program places participants , called Teacher-Leaders , in rural communities where they teach for two years . Not only is the Teacher Leadership Program designed to expand educational opportunities for all children , but it also transforms teachers into leaders themselves , so that they may instill leadership values in their students .
In 2022 , both our Recruitment and Marketing , Communication & Engagement teams used strategic outreach efforts in Armenia and in global Armenian Diaspora communities to recruit new Teacher-Leaders to our movement . As a result , we received 1,822 applications for our eighth cohort of Teacher- Leaders . Of those applications received , 450 advanced to the selection stage , 73 were accepted into the program , and following our summer training session , 68 were placed in rural schools to begin their two year journey enabling collective leadership on the ground .
