As an Alumni-Ambassador , I am honored to look back on my experiences with Teach For Armenia ’ s Teacher Leadership Program . My time as a Teacher-Leader was transformative , and I am filled with gratitude for the lasting values and skills that I gained while teaching .
Following my time as a Teacher-Leader , I continued my work in education , participating in various initiatives , such as the “ Step Toward Home ” program for diaspora youth with the Office of the High Commissioner of Diaspora Affairs of Armenia , as well as joining Teach For Armenia ’ s Selection Team to select new participants for the Teacher Leadership Program . These experiences led me where I am today as the director of the “ Classical School ” Educational Foundation . Our foundation offers students an original educational program that combines classical and general education , with the aim of growing a healthy and strong generation of Armenian leaders . We pay close attention to self-awareness , problem solving , spiritual and moral values , teamwork skills , and independent learning , areas that are very much in line with Teach For Armenia ’ s mission and commitment to the future of education in Armenia and Artsakh .
When I think about my long-term successes , I think of two things : selfeducation and people . Devoting time to self-education has allowed me to reap the fruits of my labor years later , just like in school . Meanwhile , the people in my life , particularly my former students in Dzyunashogh , have provided me with meaningful relationships that I cherish to this day . It is the strength of those relationships that continue to catalyze our collective movement for educational justice .
I am proud to continue representing Teach For Armenia and the incredible work that is being done to empower the next generation of leaders in Armenia . I am confident that the impact of Teach For Armenia will only grow , and I look forward to continuing to be a part of this movement .
