Public Partnerships

Our Public Partnerships Team plays a critical role in Teach For Armenia ’ s ability to operate and grow in Armenia and Artsakh . The Team leads our cooperation with government entities and multilateral organizations . They also co-create Teach For Armenia ’ s policy and system-change priorities and help meet our annual fundraising goals . In 2021 , Public Partnerships secured over $ 100,000 for our various projects and initiatives . Of that amount , $ 35,000 was generously donated by People In Need as part of a European Union COVID-19 Solidarity Programme for Eastern Partnership countries . The funds were used to implement 40 Student-Led Innovation Projects . Five hundred thirtyeight students from eight regions of Armenia benefited from the camp .
On a regional level , Public Partnerships led our expansion into the Syunik region . The Team formalized our relationship with the Syunik regional government in order to place Teacher-Leaders in six remote border communities . Furthermore , the Team worked closely with the Armenian Ministry of Education , Science , Culture , and Sports ( MoESCS ) to continue operating our Leadership Development Program nationwide . In January 2021 , the Ministry adopted a new hiring process through which only individuals could apply for vacant teaching positions . We worked to secure a legal process that would allow entities such as Teach For Armenia to fill vacancies as well . As a result , on August 31st , 2021 , Teach For Armenia and MoESCS signed an executive order placing our seventh cohort of Teacher-Leaders .
