Student-Led Innovation Projects
At Teach For Armenia , our work is guided by Our 2050 Promise . By the time the children being born into our communities today are 25 years old , the nation will be transformed because of their leadership . In order to fulfill this promise , our children need an education that will prepare them to be civic-minded problem-solvers who can adapt to new realities and contribute to the development of their country . Teach For Armenia addressed this need by developing Change-Based Learning , our approach to teacher training and student leadership , which aims to spark local ingenuity , civic engagement , and global connectivity in all corners of the nation .
First piloted in our 2020 Virtual Student Leadership Camp , participants designed video pitches for 50 Student-Led Innovation Projects . We chose 24 of those projects to receive funding from donors , including corporate sponsor Deutsche Post DHL ( DPDHL ), for the 2020-2021 school year . In the fall of 2021 , students presented the final results of four of those projects to DHL Armenia staff virtually from their communities . This year , students also implemented projects as part of our partnership with UNICEF and our Emergency Education Response to the Artsakh war . To date , students have completed nearly 50 Student-Led Innovation Projects and we have already introduced Change-Based Learning to our third cohort of Teacher-Leaders and their students .
