A teacher ’ s journey in our Leadership Development Program begins with Teacher Leadership Academy , our eight-week summer training program for new recruits . Its objective is to prepare Teacher-Leaders and equip them with the necessary tools to teach in their own classrooms by September .

Teacher Leadership Academy

Today , leadership is a quality needed by Armenia and Artsakh . That is why Teach For Armenia works to cultivate leadership at every level of our school communities . We develop Teacher-Leaders to alleviate critical teacher shortages across the country , to raise the quality of education that students receive , and to become lifelong advocates for educational equity . A teacher ’ s journey in our Leadership Development Program begins with Teacher Leadership Academy , our eight-week summer training program for new recruits . Its objective is to prepare Teacher-Leaders and equip them with the necessary tools to teach in their own classrooms by September . Since the onset of COVID-19 , Teacher Leadership Academy has been implemented in a blended format with both online and offline components . In 2022 , 120 Teacher-Leaders successfully completed the Teacher Leadership Academy .
Participants are introduced to the fundamentals of pedagogy . Teacher-Leaders learn various methodologies such as the mechanics of assessment , promoting social-emotional learning and wellness , and building a strong classroom culture . They also learn to implement Change-Based Learning , Teach For Armenia ’ s unique approach to projectbased learning , which cultivates student leadership . Teacher Leadership Academy consists of self-guided modules and group training . Coaching and reflection are important parts of the learning process , too . By engaging participants in a cycle of learning , practice , reflection , and improvement , we are laying a foundation for their evolution as educators over the next two years .
