Public Partnerships

Teach For Armenia ’ s Public Partnerships Team is a bridge builder . It strengthens our cooperation with government entities and multilateral organizations , co-creates our policy and system-change priorities , and works to meet annual fundraising goals . The team also participates in forums and seminars to increase Teach For Armenia ’ s contribution to academia and the field of public policy .
Despite the twists and turns of 2020 , the Public Partnerships Team was successful in engaging government officials and bilateral and multilateral organizations that operate in Armenia . This year , Teach For Armenia was formally engaged with various local and international stakeholders , including : Armenia ’ s MoESCS , Artsakh ’ s MoESC , the High Commissioner on Diaspora Affairs of Armenia , the European Union ' s Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum ( EaP CSF ), the Japanese Embassy in Armenia , UNICEF , UNHCR , and the Children ’ s Support Center Foundation . In total , Teach For Armenia secured more than $ 130,000 in funding through such partnerships .
The Public Partnerships Team also embarked on a process to engage our various stakeholders in order to define Teach For Armenia ’ s policy priorities . To do so , we asked 190 individuals , including students , to identify long-term , system-change priorities . The group included 20 students , 18 public school teachers from different regions of Armenia , 52 Teacher-Leaders , 11 principals , 42 Alumni-Ambassadors , 34 staff members , and 13 public and private partner organizations . The consequent paper solidified a set of priorities that our community views as essential in order to modernize Armenia ’ s education system . The list includes : 1 ) Developing new learning models ; 2 ) Reimagining the school building as a multi-purpose community center ; 3 ) Aligning the national syllabus with global trends and best practices ; 4 ) Ongoing professional development for teachers ; 5 ) Reinforcing leadership qualities and management skills ; 6 ) Increasing the salary of school staff ; 7 ) Promoting social-emotional learning and life skills ; and 8 ) Changing Armenia ’ s requirements for entry into the teaching profession . In order to further bolster Teach For Armenia ’ s work in the local education landscape , the Public Partnerships Team participated in key discussions centering on educational equity . We successfully applied to join the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs ’ Council on Youth and Women ’ s Employment . This relationship was instrumental in helping us coordinate our responses to the pandemic and Artsakh war . Our application to the
