Teaching For Hope

For many , dandelions are a symbol of childhood . Emblematic of innocence , joy , and peace , they remind us of long summers , when we ran here and there , plucking flowers while giggling with our friends . We made wishes , blowing pieces of fluff into the wind . Unknowingly , the breeze also carried with it seeds , scattering future dandelions along with our dreams .
At Teach For Armenia , the dandelion is a symbol of hope . Hope for a more prosperous Armenia and Artsakh . Hope that — within our lifetime — we can provide every child with an excellent education . Hope for a brighter future for our children ’ s children . Just like the dandelion , we know that spring will come with many flowers and a new generation of leaders who will redefine what is possible .
Today , within the hearts of our students , we are planting thousands of seeds . Seeds of leadership that will blossom as our students develop into adults . Adults who will regard their communities as full of infinite possibilities rather than problems to be solved . They will bring into existence an Armenia that is innovative . Because of their leadership , there will be hundreds of bright spots in every corner of the country , serving as examples of the people that we know we can be — a nation that would fill our ancestors with pride .
After seven years of innovation and growth , Teach For Armenia is reaching over 14,000 students across 100 + communities , with 127 Teacher-Leaders who are joined by nearly 60 Emergency Education Responders , 130 Alumni- Ambassadors , and over 40 staff members .
