Through the 2020 EFR survey , Teach For Armenia was ranked in the # 1 spot across the Teach For All network partners that participated in the survey . Additionally , we were in the top quartile for every indicator . In particular , 95 % of staff agreed that Teach For Armenia ’ s policies promote fairness and transparency .
For our Human Resources Team , 2020 was as ambitious and fruitful as it was challenging . The pandemic and the war affected every aspect of our lives — from wellness to the way we work . As the events of 2020 unfolded , we made the mental health and well-being of our employees a top priority . Teach For Armenia extended health insurance benefits to all employees and contractors , offered free counseling services with a psychologist , and in the fall , provided an assistance fund to each staff member so that they could improve their working-from-home conditions .
Despite obstacles presented by COVID-19 and the conflict , our Human Resources Team took significant steps to make Teach For Armenia more efficient and effective as we strive to be “ the best place to work ,” not just in Armenia , but on a global scale . Every year , Teach For Armenia administers the Engaging For Results ( EFR ) survey by the Boston Consulting Group and in partnership with Teach For All . This is an opportunity to measure the impact of our culture building and Human Resources initiatives . Through the 2020 EFR survey , Teach For Armenia was ranked in the # 1 spot across the Teach For All network partners that participated in the survey . Additionally , we were in the top quartile for every indicator . In particular , 95 % of staff agreed that Teach For Armenia ’ s policies promote fairness and transparency .
One central initiative at the heart of staff satisfaction was a monthly All Team Leadership Series . Every month , the team would convene ( at first in-person and then online ) in order to dig into various topics regarding leadership . During the pandemic , we explored issues such as the impact stress can have on the brain and ways that we can strive to be emotionally intelligent leaders . Each month ’ s session received approval ratings higher than 90 % in staff surveys .

In order to further strengthen our internal processes and promote fairness across the organization , the Human Resources Team spent 2020 compiling our Staff Handbook , a comprehensive document that outlines the organization ’ s approach to critical issues such as Child Protection and Anti-Harassment . The Staff Handbook was given to the Board of Trustees for review in December 2020 , and was scheduled to go into effect in January 2021 . Teach For All launched its new “ Network Standards ” at the end of 2020 , and Teach For Armenia is among the first network partners to be in full compliance , meeting 100 % of the standards .
