In 2001, I was living in Texas with my husband, Asante, who was stationed at Fort Hood. A few weeks after 9/11 occurred, he received orders to go overseas to Tikrit; he was gone for 18 months. It was just me and our two kids, Genesis and Xavier, alone with no father and no nearby family. To distract myself from constantly worrying and missing my husband, I started going to the gym after I dropped my children off at school and daycare. I cannot even begin to fully express the joy I feel when I see people believe in their own potential and then act on it. That I had even a small part in their journey makes me so grateful for the opportunity to coach, train, and teach. I can’t think of anything else I would want to do in the course of my life’s work other than this. 4. Describe B.R.Y.C.K.E.D Up in one sentence. I like to think of my program as a fresh blueprint to help structure and redesign one’s strength, power, and possibilities. I would also like to say that I think it’s awesome, but that would be two sentences...
