This year on 28 February would have been the 75th birthday of one of Cheltenham’s iconic musicians; Brian Jones, founder and original leader of the Rolling Stones (1942 – 1969). The Cheltenham Trust is marking the occasion with displays at both Cheltenham Town Hall and The Wilson (from 27 May). This bronze bust by local artist Maurice Juggins is available to view until February 2018 at Cheltenham Town Hall, a venue that Brian is known to have visited as a young musician. Located in the historic spa well area, the poppies stand from floor to ceiling filled by the natural light of the stairwell. Members of the public are welcome to view the poppy waterfall at Cheltenham Town Hall, Monday-Friday, 10am-5:30pm. Alternatively, valid ticket holders attending a show or event will be able to view the display during show times. Please go along to see it for yourself and show your support for the Royal British Legion. 12 The Cheltenham Trust WWW.CHELTENHAMTRUST.ORG.UK Preparatory drawings and photographs for the creation of the bust, alongside other Brian Jones ephemera are on display at The Wilson.
