New Active School Coordinator at TCSOA starting in October 2015
Fiona Keir joins the Active Schools team from
Sports Development within Perth and Kinross,
where she has been developing Community
Sport Hubs and the Ultimate Sport Leaders’
programme over the past 4 years. She enjoys
netball, running and has a background in canoe
slalom, representing Great Britain as an athlete
and coach.
Her role at The Community School of Auchterarder will be to provide opportunities and
pathways for pupils at this school to take part in school sport. She will support existing and
develop new volunteer led extra curricular school sport opportunities for Primary and
Secondary pupils in the Auchterarder cluster. Fiona will also work with local sports clubs
to ensure there are good links between school and club sport and that pupils and parents
are aware of how to access school sport and sport in the community.
Community Sports Leader Award
The S5 and S6 pupils who elected the Community
Sports Leader Award are working with the Live
Active and Sports Development team to develop
their leadership and coaching skills, helping them
prepare for the world of work. They will work
towards organising a cricket and gymnastics
festival later in the year for our Primary pupils.
