Chinese Art Competition
The Perthshire Chinese Community Association together with the Housing and
Community section of Perth and Kinross Council ran a competition for pupils in P1 - P3
in which eight schools took part. The judging panel included Mr Andy Chan from the
Chinese Community and the Provost. Winners were invited to a celebration at the
Salutation Hotel which was held as part of the Chinese Community in Perth’s New Year
Celebrations. The winners from The Community School of Auchterarder were Michael
P1MN (Category winner); John Platt P1MN and Lewis P1C (Category Runners-Up).
Michael also received a £25 book token.

Rotary Young Photographer Competition
Pupils from the Wider Achievement Programme’s Photography group entered the
annual Auchterarder and District Rotary Club’s Young Photographer Competition. The
quality of the photographs was excellent and the winners are:Seniors - First Place, Bethany Hutton S6 ‘Adventure’; Second Place, Lucy Grindall S6
‘Reflection and Light’; Third Place, Lucy Grindall ‘Auburn Reflection’.
Intermediates - First Place, Laura Slodicakova S1 ‘Annie’; Second Place, Aaron Murray
S1 ‘Through the Gap’; Third Place, Charlie Edment S1 ‘Ryder Cup Captain’.
