Heartstart Cheque Presentation Mr Douglas Gilmour President of the Auchterarder and District Rotary Club visited the school on 6 March to present a cheque for £75 to S2 pupils Jenni McLuckie and Kelsey Boyne, representatives of the school`s Heartstart group. The Heartstart Group, part of the school`s Wider Achievement Programme, has completed a Heartstart course in which they learnt how to provide emergency life support. As well as enhancing the pupils` life skills, the course also promoted a sense of community spirit amongst the pupils who decided to work together to raise funds to purchase a much needed defibrillator for the Auchterarder community. A dress down day in December successfully raised over £600. Auchterarder Rotary Club`s kind donation has further helped boost funds. Further information on the defibrillator will appear in the local press in due course.
