behind the scenic design
From sketches to renderings to 3D models, and all
the way to what you're seeing on stage in front
of you today, the scenic designer is part of the
creative process from the very preliminary stages of
production.
S. Benjamin Farrar is a professional lighting and
scenic designer who lives in Iowa City but works all
over the country and overseas, including at venues
such as the Public Theatre, the Joyce and Lincoln
Center in New York City. In addition to frequent
design and production work at Riverside Theatre
and at Grinnell College, he designed and lit TCR's
production of My Fair Lady and was the lighting
designer for Elf the Musical.
