TIMOTHY LAUBACH
LES
Timothy is proud to be in his fourth TCR
production and was excited to even
audition for this musical. In addition
to theater, Timothy plays ball in the
Marion baseball league and enjoys
singing in his school choir at Excelsior
Middle School. He would like to than
his family and teachers for supporting
his love of the arts. Finally, Timothy
would like to thank you for “Seizing the
day” and coming to see Newsies!
JUSTIN MCDERMOTT
SPECS
Justin is a senior at the University
of Northern Iowa studying
Communication-Theatre Education.
Newsies will be his first show at
TCR and he is very excited for the
opportunity to perform alongside so
many talented individuals. Just would
especially like to thank his parents and
older sister for always supporting him
in everything he does. He hopes you
enjoy the show!
JULIA MELONE
HANNAH/BOWERY BEAUTY/
NUN
Julia is so excited to be in her first
production at TCR. She was most
recently seen in the University of Iowa’s
production of Sunday in the Park with
George as Celeste #1/Betty and Why
Is This Night Different as Hayley. She
would like to thank her friends and
family for supporting her throughout this
process and the directing team, cast,
and crew of Newsies for making her
first TCR experience so unforgettable.

CARRINGTON MOORE
JOJO/SCAB 1
Carrington has been a part of numerous
drama productions. Back in 2016, she
was a part of TCR’s Sister Act. Attending
Kirkwood Community College for her
Registered Nurse License, she plans
on continuing her medical career after
her time at Kirkwood to become a
Nurse Practitioner and Anesthesiologist.
She also plans on getting her minor
in Theatre Performance. Aside from
performing, she cheerleads and
volunteers.
BRODI NELSON
MUSH
This is Brodi’s first ever Theatre Cedar
Rapids production, and she is overly
thrilled about it. She has been in many
productions at Giving Tree Theater in
Marion, Iowa, but this is the first time
she has stepped onto the big TCR stage.
She is a freshman at Washington High
School, and wants to pursue theater
throughout college and adulthood. This
is also her dream show, and she is very
excited to show everyone her moves.
LUKE PETERSON
MR. JAKOBI/MAYOR/GUARD
After seeing numerous shows at
TCR throughout high school, Luke is
overjoyed to be making his TCR debut in
Newsies! A native of Newhall, IA, Luke
just finished his sophomore year at St.
Ambrose University where he is a double
major in Theatre and Sociology. He
gives many thanks to his family, friends,
and all the theatre mentors he has had
along the way for encouraging him to
follow his dreams. He hopes you enjoy
the show!
