Kim Benser (Brenda) Kim is
excited to be a part of the show
and loves the cast. She also
loved the movie of the same
name. This is Kim’s second main
stage production after a nearly
20 year hiatus. She was
previously seen on the TCR stage
in Miracle on 34th Street in
December, 2013. When she’s
not performing, Kim works at GE
Capital and her hobbies include
reading and gardening. She
would like to thank her daughter,
Deidra, for all of her love and
support.
Brett Borden (Lawrence) This is
Brett’s first production at TCR and
he couldn’t be more excited! He
has performed in many shows
in the Iowa City/Coralville area
and serves on the board of Iowa
City Community Theater. He
currently works for Abbe Health
as a Transitional Living Assistant.
He would like to thank Angie for
this wonderful opportunity.
Nadine Borngraeber (Marie)
Nadine is pleased to be in the
company of so many lovely
ladies and a few handsome
gents! Last seen on the main
stage in Mary Poppins (Miss
Andrew) as well as previously
appearing in Into the Woods
(Jack’s Mother). She has sung in
both the Rodgers and
Hammerstein Classics in Concert
and Music Man concerts at the
Paramount. Thanks to Angie and
Becca for their excellent insights
into the feminine psyche. She
dedicates this performance to the
memory of her Dad and Mom,
who walked the same road as
John and Annie.
Kevin Burford (John) An Iowa
City native, Kevin works at the
University of Iowa Law Library.
He has previously appeared in
Cedar Rapids as Beverly Weston
in Urban Theater Project’s August:
Osage County, The Marquis
of Queensberry in TCR’s Gross
Indecency, and Gonzalo in
Classics at Brucemore’s The
Tempest. Kevin thanks Angie
Toomsen for casting him in this
marvelous play with such a lovely
group of players.
