THE TCR FAMILY TRULY IS JUST THAT!
THIS FALL, THERE ARE THREE FAMILY TIES
WITHIN OUR PRODUCTION OF ANNIE. TCR
ARTISTIC ASSOCIATE EMMA DRTINA ASKS
EACH PAIR, “WHAT’S THE MOST EXCITING
PART ABOUT WORKING WITH YOUR FAMILY
MEMBER ON ANNIE?”
Anne and Rigley Ohrt
(Mother and daughter)
Rigley: My favorite part is being
able to be on stage together doing
what we love – acting, singing,
and dancing!
Anne: For me, it is sharing
the whole process – sharing in
the music, building friendships,
developing characters, learning
life skills. It is one of the few places
that she will just be. She loves to be
immersed in the entire process and
does not need a device to captivate
her attention. I love watching her
grow and find her talents. But the
bottom line is we are both crazy
and we love to sing and dance and
love being together!
FALL MARQUEE | theatrecr.org
Scot and Marcia Hughes
(Husband and wife)
Scot: The best thing is being able to
spend our time together sharing this
performing thing that we both love.
It’s pretty neat to watch each other
developing our characters and build
our performances – and that carries
over to non-rehearsal times, too.
Not to mention, at least it’s one way
we’ll be able to spend the holiday
season together!
Marcia: Scot and I met in a play –
when we were cast together 31 years
ago in On Golden Pond. But, while our
children were growing up, we often took
turns being on stage. So, even though
we share only one scene in this show, it’s
a special gift to have an opportunity to
work together. And what better way to
enjoy the holiday season than by getting
to do what we love – together.
Tanja Struve (TCR's new
Costume Assistant!) and
Jenna Woodwick (Mother
and daughter)
Tanja: I’ve had the privilege of working
alongside Jenna for several shows
behind the scenes. Annie is totally
different. Jenna is IN the production, and
I am on the production team! We have
so much to talk about and share with
each other when we chat. My favorite
part, though, is watching her light up
when she talks about performing. I can’t
wait to see her in action on stage!
Jenna: My mom is my best friend,
so being able to work together on
something we both love is amazing.
It’s always fun to be doing something
you enjoy, but to share it with someone
you love makes it so much better. My
favorite part of working together is all
the memories we have to look back and
laugh on. I’m excited to be able to work
alongside her in the future and make
many more memories!
