air pressure codes

It is expected more than 65 percent of local or state jurisdictions will adopt make-up air language in their codes by 2013. As early as 2009, national model code language contains make-up air for domestic range hoods capable of exhausting 400+ CFM (cubic feet per minute).

Why a need for make-up air? When range hoods exhaust air from your home, negative air pressure is created . A make-up air damper is designed to balance the air pressure in your home.

Interest or questions? Monty Montieth from HADCO welcomes inquiries on the new make-up air requirements. He can be reached at [email protected].

Surf's Up!

...and so was attendance!

The Realtor/Builder Expo was brimming with opportunity and good times. ROI's rolled in not even a week after the show.

2013 Realtor/Builder Expo

Once again the Greater Tampa Association of Realtors (GTAR) along with the Tampa Bay Builders Association (TBBA) created a masterpiece expo, bringing together over 800 realtors and builders. Excitement was in the air as Marshall Gray, past TBBA President, welcomed everyone to the showroom floor at The Regent in Brandon. Builders were buzzing in their surf attire and fantasticly themed booths. See photos on Facebook, click here.

Members connected, reconnected and found opportunity. In fact, Mr. Ball of Interpro Restoration started on a new site immediately after the show with a client he made on the showroom floor. KB Homes reported a sale on the following Monday, a sale directly related to attending the show. "We could not be more pleased with the team effort and turn out for the 2013 Realtor/Builder Expo," said Claudette Kelsey, committee chair. "And we are very thankful for our sponsors who made the event possible."

School Supply Drive

'Tis the season for the annual SMC School Supply Drive. In June and July the SMC asks members to collect supplies at your business location. Your donations can be provided to a TBBA staff member, brought to a TBBA event, or taken to Buyers Home Store in Lutz. Questions? Phil Paul, chair of the SMC Chairities Committee, is happy to help. He can be reached at [email protected]. And many children are grateful for your donations!
