heers to the new year and to
new beginnings. Who would’ve
thought 2013 would pass in the
blink of an eye—we surely didn’t.
The year did bring about some
promising changes that rounded
up with the success of the
Indonesia Tatler-Panda Ball. This year, we promise to
live up to your expectations covering all the exciting
events coming our way, only for you.
First and foremost, I would like to congratulate our Governor,
Joko “Jokowi” Widodo for the completion of his first year in the
position. He has proved to be a man of his words with the ability
to lead Jakarta out of its chaotic situation. He has successfully led
progressive breakthroughs in the city, along with his two current

Moreover, the Indonesia Tatler-Panda Ball covers a huge part of
this issue. Held in Shangri-La Hotel Jakarta on November 29, we
joined hands with WWF to promote the importance of the Coral
Triangle Program and sustainable seafood. Therefore, in keeping
with its theme, “A Tribute to the he Sea”, the ball was attended by
Dr Efransyah, CEO of WWF Indonesia as well as WWF Coral Triangle Ambassador and celebrity chef Bobby Chinn, who oversaw

seafood. WWF Earth Hour Ambassador, Nadya
Hutagalung co-hosted the event, as well.
In our Social Bites section, we caught up with
Italian Ambassador to Indonesia, HE Federico
Failla and his spouse, Madame Failla, at the
revered Amuz Gourmet Restaurant. Every year,
between October and December, Amuz prides itself on its one-of-a-kind special offering: “White
Alba and Black Truffle Festival”.
Don’t miss our style section, where we speak
to London-based handbag designer, Ethan Koh
on his brand, Ethan K. Born and brought up in
Singapore, Ethan grew up with a tannery in his
backyard, learning to love the tanning of crocodile skins and the art of designing from a very
young age.
To conclude this edition, our features section
is dazzled by Chanel’s new feline-inspired, Sous
Le Signe du Lion jewellery collection, paying
tribute to the legendary Coco Chanel.
Last but not least, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all our loyal readers, clients and
society for the ongoing support. On behalf of all
of us at Indonesia Tatler, I am wishing each and
every one of you a very Happy New Year!
