TO P G E A R AIMING F O R G R E AT N E S S The SCM team convened for a four-day conference at Kumarakom for lessons in team building and excellence F rom August 18 to 21, 2016, Tata Sky conducted the SCM Conference at Lakesong Resort, in the picturesque backwater town of Kumarakom, Kerala. The main agenda of the conference was to take the SCM team from Good to Great by creating a meaningful team experience; enhancing communication and collaboration; preparing for the future and learning to excel. The conference started with a welcome brief and safety orientation, followed by an insightful session by Senior Vice President, Supply Chain Services, Arun Kumar. In his talks, he shared the goals and strategy for SCM and provided a brief update on the team’s performance. An engaging 8 PEOPLE AC T VE discussion about the team’s hits and misses soon followed; there was also a brainstorming session on how to transform the supply chain operation into a best-in-class function. The respective SCM vertical leads Jaswinder Saini (procurement), Anil Dalvi (SCM operations), Devendra Patil (IT procurement) and GH Sitaraman (automation and imports) shared their respective team’s activities, achievements, best practices, upcoming projects and also set the future goals of their teams. Employee-engagement scores of the SCM function were reviewed during the session which also comprised of debates, discussions, and inputs on ways to improve employee engagement levels. SCM leadership reviewed the presentations put up by the team members on relevant SCM topics and rated them on parameters such as content, delivery and feasibility.
