Whispering Woods is a Transylvanian (Romanian) symphonic metal group that tries to tell a story with each song. The band was initially formed in 2008 but the stable lineup was defined in 2010, while 2014 brought the latest member - Radu, keyboards. Together with our sound engineer we are 8 metalheads, from which 4 of us have classical music studies and work as professional musicians.
Soon we'll be entering the studio to start recording a new single. We're really hyped and hope that everyone will enjoy the final product as much as we will while making it!
Our more general genre could be said to be symphonic metal, mostly because we have two sopranos and a flute player. Still, I think our music takes influences from a more wider range and not just the symphonic area.
To give a reference of what we may sound like (although we don't wish to copy anyone): Nightwish (but more doomy), Therion (yet less symphonic), Flowing Tears (a bit more symphonic), old Within Temptation. Some consider the flute element to be the main spice in our music and I can only agree 100%!
