When you started working with animals, what sort of things were you doing? Were you volunteering, working with a shelter or animal hospital? What types of animals were you working with? What all were you doing?

Leather Leone: I went through extensive training and education to work with animals.

I became a veterinary technician. Basically an animal nurse. Working with small and large animals. At the same time I began doing pitbull rescue. It took up all my time.

Since your emergence back into music, playing with Chastain again, as well as Sledge/Leather do you feel another Leather album upon the horizon?

Leather Leone:At this point I don't know what my next step will be. There is always conversation going on, which doesn't necessarily produce anything. Right now I am concentrating on doing live shows as Leather. But I may also decide to just go back to may cave!

As a vocalist are things easier than they used to be or more difficult in the studio when recording? If you could trade off any ability with another musician what would it be ? Who and Why?

Leather Leone: The studio remains an unnatural place for me. Claustrophobic, limiting and challenging. That being said, I do feel better at the craft of recording at this point in my life....But I much prefer live situations. If I could trade ability and know how, of course it would be the master Ronnie James Dio. If I had a sliver of his talent and vocal prowess, life would be very different. But those graces are only allowed the small few.

On the new album We Bleed Metal compared to the previous album how would you say they are different, and how would you say they are the same? Are we in store for anything unexpected?

Leather Leone: The difference between "Surrender to no one" and "We bleed Metal" in my opinion is the songs and most definitely the delivery . The material is stronger, along with my voice and Chastain's guitar playing.... It was just a better time in the whole creative and recording process. I truly felt this record which I hadn't done to this extreme since my solo "Shockwaves."

Did Chastain write most of the lyrics this time around or did you pitch in on more of that?

Leather Leone: Chastain wrote all of it with the exception of "Secrets". Its hard to get any say on a Chastain record!
