Violent Divine- Hyperactivity Disorder

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★

From the first scorching riffs to rumbling bass line Hyperactivity Disorder is set on fire quickly. Very unique vocals, whether lead or backing they create an impressive fluid feel. Outstanding lyrical quality, the clarity is also quite eye popping. Very crunchy guitar riffs, the flow of the music itself seems to just punch and kick it's way through the album at an enjoyable rate. Though there is a mix of clean parts at times that seems to interrupt that a bit too much. Palm mutes are used quite well, but not overused, loving the alternate melodic riffs thrown in throughout. Wishing for just a little bit more from the lead vocals, overall great job all around. Maybe some yelling or perhaps some raspy moments would be a nice addition to this already passionate sounding collection of music. The guitarists continue to just rip this shit up whenever they get the chance, like absolute madmen! This music even has some odd twists and turns, bringing you in and around turbulent yet blistering metal. Tight drumming provides an excellent, yet power hungry back bone to this band throughout! ALIEN SYNDROME 777-OUTER

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★★

Although this is indeed a Black Metal piece “Outer” is an experience best enjoyed in a quiet place where you have some time to commit to your listen because there is much going on here. The set opens up an Unconscious Rebellion. This otherworldly atmospheric sound scape harkens back to something that could be heard on early Syd Barrett era Pink Floyd. The opener is a short 2 min and 24 seconds but it does an excellent job of taking you the listener on a descent into the depths of your unconscious mind in order to break free of the reality where your conscious mind operates. From here track 2. Symmetriads hits with expected Black Metal fury but quickly builds out with atmospheric and ethereal twists and turns that leave you feeling as if you wandered into the fringes of a darkened purgatory. Outer delivers a furious and surreal cascade of avantgarde Black Metal. By Timothy Joel
