CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY TEXAS AND TASBO ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP TASBO MEMBERS CAN EARN MBA IN SFO AT A DISCOUNT TASBO surveyed members on their higher education preferences and found Concordia University Texas’ MBA in SFO program. Concordia University Texas and the Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO) are partnering together to offer TASBO members the ability to earn their MBA of School Finance and Operations (SFO) at a reduced rate. The SFO is Concordia’s newest concentration in the MBA program. This specialty is designed for those aspiring to take on leadership roles in the central office of an educational setting. Aside from the core MBA courses, students will take four specialty courses specifically tailored for the K-12 education. Fieldwork components will be embedded into the courses giving students observational knowledge of how school districts function. TASBO members going for their SFO will enjoy a $50 discount per credit hour. This amounts to more than $2,000 in total savings. “Not only are we excited about the partnership between Concordia and the Texas Association of School 26 Business Officials, we are also delighted that part of the agreement gives TASBO members a $50 discount per credit hour for the program,” Allen Brown, AVP for Academics at Concordia University, said. “This amounts to more than $2,000 in savings over the term of the program. This is significant, and we hope this will encourage TASBO members to take advantage of the fine program we have put together for them.” Possessing an SFO helps increase marketability of graduates and gives professionals the ability to improve their expertise. It is valid in more than 1,000 Texas school districts. “TASBO surveyed our members and determined there was a need for a graduate degree program with a specialization of school finance and operations,” TASBO Board President Randy McDowell, CFO from Rockwall ISD, said. “We’re very proud to partner with Concordia University Texas to be able to offer this degree program to our members and help them reach their career goals.” Concordia University Texas is a regionally accredited institution of higher education, offering graduate degrees with flexible deliveries.
