Joyous Resurrection
“He is not here; for He is
risen.” (Matthew 28: 6)
Our Lord Jesus was
crucified, died, and was
buried on Friday before
sunset. That was the first of
the three days in the tomb.
He passed all of Saturday
in the grave and He arose
the third day
very early in
the morning on
Sunday.
Mary
Magdalene,
and the other
women
who
were
present
at the burial of
our Savior on
Friday evening,
returned
from
Golgotha to the
city and prepared
fragrant spices
and myrrh to
anoint the body
of
the
Lord
Jesus.
They
rested for the whole day
because the law forbids
working on Sabbath day.
Early on Sunday they came
to the tomb with the spices
to anoint His body. While
they were considering the
difficulty of rolling away the
stone from the door of the
tomb. There was a big earth
quack and an Angel rolled
away the stone (That was
the first sign of resurrection)
and told them that the
Savior was risen. They
proclaimed to the disciples
the good news. Then Peter
and John entered the
tomb and found only the
sheets. They returned to
the city with joy. Afterward
the Apostles transferred
Saturday to Sunday in
honor and remembrance
of the Resurrection of the
41
Lord Jesus.
Resurrection demonstrates
our Savior's victory over
death
and
corruption.
He conquered death and
fulfilled
the
prophesy.
Through resurrection, we
got the power to overcome
the evil one and resurrect
from our sins.
We rejoice in the
resurrection
of
our Lord Jesus
Christ because
the Lord carried
our sins and
promised
us
eternal life if
we live the life
of
repentance
and follow His
commandments.
Since He is risen,
He left His image
on us and this
image everyone
should see it.
Everyone
sees
The Lord Christ in us. We
need to be witness to Him.
We need to bring the good
news to the world. May the
Lord Christ be always risen
in our lives.
