THE ANIMALS OBSERVATORY
The Animals Observatory Spring/Summer 19 collection, Laia Aguilar pays homage to the
romantic world of flowers and the richness of their colour palette, combining this with the
dazzling and radical style of classic rock stars. At the same time, Laia stays true to one of her
recurrent references: the muted colours of Eric Rohmer's films.
Within the new collection we see the elegance of 1970s Saint Tropez, military strength and
the delight of young girls playing princesses. Classic and vintage patterns, pieces sprinkled
with truth and charm, inspiration from cartoons by Tex Avery, and the natural elegance of
iconic figures such as Lauren Hutton, Caroline Bassette and John Kennedy, or Brooke Shields
and Jackie Kennedy in their youth.
