-The ideal female dancer is the one who embraces . The one who sticks to the man throughout the song . It is worth to say it doesn ’ t happen everywhere . Everyone is so concerned about style , that emotions have failed to exist . Even when they hug each other , they are thinking if they are doing it correctly , instead of simply embracing .
-I believe people dance Tango Argentino everywhere . Argentinian Tango is the same in all countries . In Russia , Turkey , and Finland . I believe that while dancing Tango , you have to be original , be a master in what you do , and try not to stick to a particular type of tango . It is a new trend , nowadays , to give new names to everything : Turkish tango , Finn tango , etc ... When I started teaching tango , they were simply tango classes , no label on them . The tango lesson or the milonga lesson ( waltz was taught within tango lessons ). People just came and learned . Lately , there ’ s a lot of business going on around Tango , and if it doesn ’ t have a catchy name , people won ’ t come .
-There are some methodology matters , which are subject to every teacher . You know what I mean ? Back in the days when we learned with the old teachers , they showed a step , and we had to repeat it . There was no explanation . They did not know how to explain . All they could do was to correct – that they could . They didn ’ t even talked about the pivot , left alone dissociation , and even though that , we dance Tango . You were taught by a more pedagogically prepared generation . You are spoiled kids !
-What does it mean to dance well ? There is no machine to measure it . Every person dances as they wish and as they can . And it ’ s awesome . I don ’ t have any right to judge who can dance or not . Everyone can dance Tango ! In the last Tango world cup , one of the competitors was a woman in a wheelchair . Can anyone say she didn ’ t dance ? If we look ourselves as if there ’ s always something missing , then everything would seem impossible . But when you get to accept yourselves , just the way you are and are happy with it , then everything seems possible . It all depends on the angle you look your own life from .
-To dance Tango two people are necessary , man and woman . Or two woman . Or two men . Form these two , there is one who decides the dancing structure , and the other one performs within that structure . And it doesn ’ t matter how roles are split because they are equally important they ’ re both mandatory .
