Simula ng Barangay at SK Elections, naging maayos
BATANGAS CITY Sa
unang dalawang oras ng
botohan ay naging maayos
at mapayapa ang Barangay
at Sangguniang Kabataan
elections na nagsimula
ng eksakto alas syete ng
umaga at magtatapos sa
3:00 ng hapon.
Muling
naging
problema ng iba ang hindi
makitang pangalan sa list
of registered voters. Kung
kayat nagsadya ang ilan sa
tanggapan ng COMELEC.
Mayroon
ding
nagreklamo na diumano’y
mga flying voters na nasa
listahan subalit hindi
nakatira sa barangay na
kanilang bobotohan.
Sa
barangay
Calicanto
na
may
7,000registered
voters,
inereklamo ang mabagal
na proseso ng eleksyon
sapagkat limitado sa anim
na tao ang pinapapasok
sa isang presinto kahit
marami pang bakanteng
bangko para sa mga
botante. Dahil dito lalong
humahaba ang pila.
Ayon
sa
kay
Election Officer Atty.
Groller Mar Liwag, ang
pinakamaraming
bilang
ng taong pwedeng bumoto
sa loob ng presinto ay 10.
Bawal ang gumamit ng
cellphone at makipag usap
sa mga watchers habang
bumubuto. Sinabi rin niya
na dapat na ang botante
ang maghulog ng kanyang
balota sa ballot box at hindi
ang chairman ng Board
of Election Inspectors
alinsunod sa orientation
na ibinigay ng Comelec sa
mga teachers.

CAVITEÑOS GATHERED FOR THE
CELEBRATION OF CAVITE DAY
CAVITE
DAY,
also known as Aguinaldo
Day, is annually observed
by the people of Cavite to
give tribute to the Cavite-
born and raised national
hero,
General
Emilio
F.
Aguinaldo.
Called
“Heneral Miong” by his
closest
relatives
and
friends, the hero general
was born on March
22, 1869 at his family
ancestral home in Kawit,
Cavite. On this day, the
locals gather at Aguinaldo
ancestral home, now a
shrine, to celebrate the
birth anniversary of the
first Philippine president.
The
celebration
commenced with a morning
mass in remembrance of
General Aguinaldo. It was
led by Rev. Armando P.
Manaog from the Parish of
Santa Maria Magdalena.
The
mass
was
then
succeeded by a socio-civic
parade which was graced
by
representatives
of
different local government
bodies including several
barangay officials and
various civic associations.
Shortly after the
parade, key visitors Senator
Juan Edgardo M. Angara
and the director of National
Historical Caommission,
Hon. Ludovico D. Badoy,
headed the wreath offering
ceremony to formally pay
respect to the life and
passion of the general. This
was followed by heartfelt
messages from Cavite
Governor Jesus Crispin
Remulla and the guest of
honor, Senator Angara.
By 10:30 in the
morning,
the
crowd
cheerfully welcomed the
second part of the program
as Sta. Cecilia Band played
an upbeat marching band
song for the audience. As
soon as the musicians have
set the mood, Ms. Elinia
Imelda Rozelle Sangalang
of the Provincial Tourism
Office
introduced
the
new program for the local
tourism of Cavite wherein
a modern online campaign
was launched in order to
highlight the province’s
jewels — its rich historical
and natural attractions.
Later
in
the
afternoon, the stage was
taken by storm with
powerful acts from the
student participants of the
declamation contest. Many
were brought to tears while
the young poets interpreted
the life of Aguinaldo
through oration.
The
celebration
ended with symphonic
performances
which
starred various homegrown
talents, namely Cavite
Provincial Capitol Chor,
Coro
Regina
Coeli,
Kulturang Salinas, LPU
Cavite Harmonic Chorale,
DLSU-D Chorale, Kawit
Singing
Ambassadors,
Teatro Baile de Cavite
and
Campus
Medley
Imusicapella. Truly, the
observance
of
Cavite
Day became an avenue
for artists to showcase
their talents in honor
of our beloved General
Aguinaldo.
