(ECCD) children na tinuturuan ng
maraming bagay na makakatulong
sa kanilang total development
at binibigyan ng mga serbisyo
para sa kanilang kalusugan at
kapakanan. Sa mga childhood
development centers na ito na
ngayon ay may 107 na sa buong
Batangas City ipinagkakatiwala
ng mga magulang ang kanilang
mga anak na edad 0-4 taong
gulang upang mabigyan ng early
education at ma develop ang iba’t
iba nilang skills.
Sumasailalim din ang
mga bata sa medical check-up
ng City Health Office, binibigyan
ng vaccination, Vitamin A at
tinuturan ng tamang pangangalaga
ng ngipen ng Dental Division ng
CHO. Binibigyan sila ng libreng
dental kit na naglalaman ng
toothbrush, toothpaste at fluoride.
Tinuturan din sila ng tamang
pagsisipilyo ng ngipen. Mayroon
din silang supplemental feeding,
pinapainom ng fresh milk mula sa
Office of the City Veterinary and
Agricultural Services (OCVAS) at
tinuturuan ng tamang nutrisyon.
Mayroon din silang
mga sports activities, puppet
shows, mga field trips, mga
social at religious acitivities.
Laumalahok din ang mga bata
sa mga pagdiriwang kagaya ng
Universal Children’s Month kung
saan nagpapatalbugan sila sa
kanilang mga costumes ng ibalt
ibang bansa.
Lumalahok din sila sa

kung saan nagpaparamihan sila
sa mga nabebentang basurang
recyclables upang sa murang
edad ay matuto na sila sa

Development (ECCD) mula sa
11 child development centers ng
mga barangay Poblacion 1, 2, 12,
21, 23, 24, Soro-soro Karsada,
Cuta, Gulod Itaas, Gulod Labac
at Banaba South.
Ito ang ika anim na
grupo ng mga batang kinilala
sa ika-45 Taon ng Araw ng
Pagkilala sa mga Batang ECCD
na isinasagawa ng City Social
Welfare
and
Development
Office (CSWDO) simula pa
noong March 19 hanggang 29.
May mahigit 4,500 mga batang
ECCD na magtatapos sa early
childhood development program
ng CSWDO ngayong school year

OCD-RDRRMC 4A leads regional
1st Quarter NSED in Laguna

CALAMBA CITY, Laguna,
– The Office of Civil Defense-
Regional
Disaster
Risk
Reduction and Management
CouncilRegion
4A
(OCD-
RDRRMC 4A) successfully
led the 1st Quarter National
Simultaneous Earthquake Drill
(NSED) for Calabarzon in the
regional ceremonial venue at the
Provincial Capitol of Laguna,
town of Sta. Cruz last February
21.
This is a nationwide
campaign for earthquake and
disaster preparedness being
simultaneously done in different
parts of the country in a quarterly
basis.
“Seeing
different
personalities today composed
of various agencies in the
government only proved our
standing cooperation and unity
in our effort to protect ourselves
and the community in the effects
of disasters that might arise such
as the Big One,” PSupt. Ivy
Mallo said quoting the message
of Calabarzon Police Regional
Office (PRO 4A) Regional
Director (RD), Chief Supt.
Edward Carranza.
Different government
agencies are coming together to
scale up measures to continue
strengthening its preparation, she
added.
“Makikita
sa
iba’t
ibang bahagi ng bansa ang ating
puspusang paghahanda upang
magkaroon ng sistemadong
preparasyon
at
agarang
matugunan ang posibleng epekto
ng pagtama nito,” she said
emphasizing the ultimate aim for
having systematic preparation
and response operation in case
the Big One and other disasters
occur.
Carranza
pointed
out that proper information
dissemination and capability
development among citizens
are crucial in educating and
equipping them to become
prepared and resilient.
Dennis
Villavecer,
representative
of
Laguna
Provincial Governor Ramil
Hernandez underscored the
importance of being equipped
in times of disaster and crisis
which can be achieved through
activities like the NSED.
He
expressed
the
full support of the provincial
government in the initiatives
to help the communities and
government entities in the
province prepare for emergency
response and mitigate the impact
of disasters.
Representatives of the
provincial offices and government
line agencies such as the OCD
4A, National Economic and
Development Authority Region
(NEDA) 4A, Department of the
Interior and Local Government
(DILG), Department of Public
Works and Highways (DPWH),
Philippine
National
Police
(PNP), Department of Social
Welfare
and
Development
Region (DSWD) 4A, Department
of Health Region (DOH) 4A,
Philippine Information Agency
Region (PIA) 4A, were enjoined
in the Ceremonial Pressing of
the Button which signified the
beginning of the exercise drill.
With the cooperation of
the Laguna Provincial Disaster
Risk Reduction and Management
Office (PDRRMO), Bureau of
Fire Protection (BFP), Bureau of
Jail and Management Penology
(BJMP),
Laguna
Police
Provincial Office (PPO), among
others, the drill was successfully
conducted.
“Ang hinihingi na lang
natin ay ang buong suporta at
kooperasyon ng mamamayan
tuwing tayo ay nagsasagawa ng
earthquake drills,” Carranza said.

citizen whenever we conduct
earthquake drills)
